Friday Night was the warm up contest at the World Championships to give competitors a taste of the big show the next day. The Alaska Grizzly Beard Contest was based upon the 59 year old Mr Fur Face Contest held every winter in Anchorage. Categories were primarily based on color and the competition was fierce - but fun - to earn the coveted wooden Alaska replica plaques hand made by the Traver Family and friends.
