Bob Gengler - President
Bob was named President of the club after winning the Mr. Fur Face Competition this year. He works in the medical field and runs a wildlife and nature photography business - www.SummitTrailPhoto.com. His interests include biking, skiing, camping, kayaking, and almost anything outdoors including bee keeping. In addition to being Mr. Fur Face 2008, he has been Mr. Honey Bear 3X at the Miners and Trappers Ball. Bob was named Mr. Old Growth in Whitehorse, YT, Canada in 2008, and placed 5th at the Worlds in Berlin 2005 in the Full Beard Natural Category. |

David Traver - Vice President
David is the past president and founder of the SCAKBMC and is the consummate competitor. His Father and brother also compete in the annual competition. David works in the medical supply field and is an accomplished hunter and outdoorsman. His list of bearded achievements is remarkable. He is World Champion in the Full Beard Natural class at the Worlds in 2003, third place at the Worlds in Brighton 2007. David has been Mr. Fur Face 4X, in addition to his usual domination of the Brown Bear category at the M&T Ball. |

Opie Combs - Treasurer
Opie is a two time Red Fox winner at the Miners and Trappers Ball. He is a relative newcomer to the competitive beard world but boasts an impressive, thick, red beard and should be a force to be reckoned with in future contests. He works in outdoor equipment sales and is attending the University of Alaska. Opie enjoys all aspects of the outdoors and is an avid ice climber. He is involved in the Iditarod sled dog race every year manning remote check posts to supply the tired mushers with needed rest and supplies. |

Robert Crawford - Southern Ambassador
Robert has won the title of Mr. Fur Face 4X times and his long white hair, bushy white beard, and fur coat are synonomus with the M&T Ball. He competes in the Polar Bear category and usually wins this division. He works as a private contractor on the local military bases. He and his wife enjoy raising and showing Shetland Sheepdogs. Robert was the first President of the South Central Alaska Beard and Moustache Club. Thanks Robert! |

George Haskins - Northern Ambassador
George is a relative newcomer to the world of competitive beard showing but already has quite a resume. He recently placed 2nd in the English Moustache division at the 8 annual World Championships in Brighton, England. He has also won the Soup Strainer category at the Miner's and Trapper's Ball the last several years. He lives up in frigid Fairbanks, AK, which makes many wonder why he does not donn a full beard. Yes, that is his real moustache! |

Over the years the South Central Alaska Beard and Moustache Club has lost several close friends. We value the friendship that we had with each of these people and with their families. We hold each of them in our thoughts and hope that the respect and love that we feel for each of them lives on and comforts both us and their families. |
